Grape pomace consists of the grape skins and seeds, the stalks are separated from the pomace at the cellar before collection.
From the grape pomace we recover alcohol and tartrates. The grape pomace is then dried and the skins and seeds are separated. The dried skins are used in animal feed and the dried seeds are pressed to produce grape seed oil in crude form. The pressed grape seeds are used as an energy source or in animal feed. Grape seeds can also be used for the production of grape seed extract or grape seed tannin.
